Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: March 1, 2026  |  Last Updated: March 1, 2026

Our Commitment

Pro Roofing Systems is committed to ensuring that its website, proroofingsystems.com, is accessible to the widest possible audience, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that every visitor — regardless of ability — deserves a seamless, dignified experience when learning about our services, requesting an inspection, or contacting our team.

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as our accessibility standard. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Measures We Have Taken

To support accessibility, Pro Roofing Systems has implemented the following measures on this Site:

  • Semantic HTML: we use proper heading hierarchy (H1–H3), landmark elements, and semantic markup to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements — including navigation menus, forms, buttons, and the AI chat widget — are reachable and operable via keyboard alone.
  • Visible focus indicators: keyboard focus is visually indicated on all interactive elements so users navigating without a mouse can track their position on the page.
  • Color contrast: text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Alternative text: all meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes to be ignored by screen readers.
  • Responsive design: the Site is fully responsive and functions correctly at all standard zoom levels (up to 400%) without loss of content or functionality.
  • Form labels: all form fields include associated labels and descriptive placeholder text to assist users with cognitive and visual disabilities.
  • ARIA attributes: ARIA roles, states, and properties are used where appropriate to enhance the experience for assistive technology users.
  • No flashing content: the Site does not contain content that flashes more than three times per second, which could trigger seizures in users with photosensitive epilepsy.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, we acknowledge that some areas of the Site may not yet meet all accessibility standards. Known limitations include:

  • Some older project photographs may have incomplete or generic alt text descriptions. We are actively reviewing and improving these.
  • The third-party SkyQuote estimator widget is provided by an external vendor and may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working with the vendor to improve its accessibility.
  • The AI chat assistant (Alex) is a conversational interface that may present challenges for users relying on certain screen readers. We are actively testing and improving this experience.

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our Site and address these limitations in future updates.
